தமிழக வெற்றிக் கழகம்

The newest major force in Tamil Nadu politics, launched by actor Vijay with a focus on secular social justice and youth participation.

About

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) was announced by actor Vijay on 2 February 2024, marking his formal entry into electoral politics after years of welfare work through his fan clubs (Vijay Makkal Iyakkam).

The party held its first state conference at V. Salai near Vikravandi in Villupuram district on 27 October 2024, where Vijay laid out its ideological direction. TVK named Periyar, K. Kamaraj, B. R. Ambedkar, Velu Nachiyar and Anjalai Ammal as its ideological guides, positioning itself on secular, social-justice lines.

The party flag is red and yellow, featuring two elephants and a vaagai flower — a traditional Tamil symbol of victory. TVK has said it will oppose both divisive politics and corruption, and has drawn strong interest from first-time and young voters.
