Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK)

நாம் தமிழர் கட்சி

A Tamil nationalist party led by Seeman that contests elections independently, without alliances.

About

Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) was launched as a political party on 18 May 2010 by film director Seeman, reviving the name of the Naam Tamilar movement started by S. P. Adithanar in 1958.

The NTK promotes Tamil nationalism, protection of natural resources, organic agriculture and Tamil language rights. It is known for contesting every seat on its own and for giving 50% of its tickets to women.

The party's vote share has grown steadily across elections, crossing 8% in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, and it was subsequently recognised as a state party in Tamil Nadu.
